MOSCOW, Jun 1 (PRIME) -- Russian gas giant Gazprom has fully stopped supplies to Denmark's Orsted and Shell Energy Europe in Germany due to non-payment in rubles, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.
"Gazprom has fully stopped gas supplies to company Orsted Salg & Service A/S (Denmark) due to non-payment in rubles … Gazprom has fully stopped gas supplies to Shell Energy Europe due to non-payment in rubles," Gazprom said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered on March 23 to charge rubles for gas and consider payments in any other currency non-fulfillment of the contracts since April 1. The payments will be done via Gazprombank that will exchange the other currencies for rubles.
